San Diego Featured Wedding: Mariangela + Jayil's Puerto Rican Venezuelan Wedding Celebrates Tradition and Love

Tradition and culture. All weddings usually celebrate some tradition or cultural pride; like the cultures that the two families bring to the wedding and sometimes the new traditions created from the newlyweds coming together as one in marriage. And then there's this wedding! Starting with a beautiful traditional Catholic Ceremony, complete with the lighting of candles during the sacrament of marriage,  the couple and their families then moved on to the ZLAC Rowing Club in Pacific Beach for a night of old and new traditions.

The groom, who is from Puerto Rico, was dressed in a suit jacket that opened into a beautiful work of art. The bride, who hails from Venezuela, handcrafted all the beautiful details of the day with love. As a surprise to their guests, the bride and groom showed their countries' pride by dancing with their respective flags as their first dance! One Puerto Rican tradition is the "guayabera," a loose-fitting men's shirt, which the bride's father wore. A fun new tradition? The bride and her maids wore matching temporary tattoos!  And the best tradition of all? Celebrating love and marriage with your families! Nos encanta esta boda especial! Our hearts go out to Puerto Rico and all our fellow Americans working to recover post hurricane.
