This lovely Orfila Winery wedding is the perfect blend of love, culture, great food and fun for our Wedding Crush Wednesday feature! Originally from Evian, France, Kevin met Mariesa in 2013 while living in New York City. Kevin proposed on the beach in Hawaii in 2015 after competing in his first Ironman World Championship. As a nod to how much triathlon is part of their life, the couple made their grand entrance into the reception by breaking through finisher tape!! The couple also very much wanted to incorporate and honor elements of both Kevin's French heritage and Mariesa's Filipino heritage throughout the wedding - they did so with both French and Filipino decor, language, traditions and delicious food from both cultures throughout the day. And we have to note that Kevin wore one of our favorite looks for the groom; a very French, very gorgeous, blue suit...which to us is a tour de style!
30 some years ago, 5217 miles separated Mariesa and Kevin at birth. And somehow all those thousands of miles of separation matter not, because on balmy New York City summer night in July 2013 the world brought them together. As destiny would have it, the very 5217 miles match the same numbers as this international couple's wedding day, 052017! Team Portmann is now embarking with Kevin as a first year pro competing in triathlon living in Oceanside, with his Sherpa Mariesa by his side. Go team Portmann!
