Bride: Angelica Islas Groom: Paul Mohr
This gorgeous and loving couple first met as coworkers, and found themselves soon falling in love with one another. Then they both fell head over heels in love with San Diego's breathtaking beaches, historic areas and beautiful weather! Angelica and Paul decided to get married at the beautiful and historic Immaculate Conception Church.
The location of the Immaculata has been a place of worship for hundreds of years and can trace it's heritage all the way back to September 28, 1542 when the first European, Captain Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo and his crew landed at San Diego bay. This dramatic church's historic, 'Old Spanish' feel was a perfect setting in which to wear the dramatic Lace Mantilla style veil worn by Angelica [Spanish for 'angel'] and her Spanish style lace gown.
Angelica and Paul's reception was held as the luxurious (and historic in its own way) L'Auberge Del Mar patio, where they enjoyed an evening dinner under the stars on the overlooking Del Mar's relaxing ocean water. The bride and groom highlighted their wedding using lace, gold sequins & each carried a locket in remembrance of their grandparents.
Angelica's first dance with her father was full of tradition and a deep family connection; her father is the singer in a well known Mexican band and he serenaded her with the song "Tiempos Alegres " ('Happy Times') and indeed this wedding was a celebration of Mexican tradition and happy times.
As their celebration came to a close, the bride and groom left the way they entered life; blessed by the love of their families and illuminated by the light of their loved ones' hopes for them they stepped through a tunnel of sparklers held aloft by their families and friends, and moved into their new life ready for more happy, happy times.
