The El Cortez

Recently restored to its original the grandeur, The El Cortez is visible for miles and has been a legendary part of the San Diego skyline for just shy of 75 years. Inside this rich and historic structure, The Don ballroom is a stunning work of architecture, octagonal in shape with a domed, ornately carved ceiling which boasts 24 karat gold detailing. The back patio offers a wood burning fireplace and can extend your event in size and scope.
We chose the El Cortez as one of San Diego's TOP 25 wedding sites for its history and sense of sophistication. The El Cortez was glorious in its heydey, and now thanks to two local visionaries, this lady of the 20th century is once again celebrating her beauty and richness in style.
