Born and raised in Mumbai, bridal gown designer Naeem Khan grew up in a world surrounded by culture, architecture, art, history and design. As a boy, he cultivated a vast knowledge of textiles under the watchful eyes of his grandfather and father, both of whom designed intricate clothing worn by Indian royal families. Khan ultimately moved to the United States as a teenager to become a designer and launched his career as an apprentice for legendary American designer Halston at the age of 20. During his time with Halston, he immersed himself in the ethos of modern restraint and learned the craft of draping and cutting fabric to create a clean, elegant and timeless silhouette. Khan eventually merged this design philosophy with the knowledge he gained from his family’s business to nurture his own unique style, and the Naeem Khan design aesthetic was born.
Khan launched his eponymous collection in 2003 and began selling at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Since then his collections have adorned glamorous women around the world, including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Rachel McAdams, First Lady Michelle Obama, Queen Noor of Jordan, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, among others.
In 2008, he was inducted as a member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America and most recently launched the Naeem Khan Bridal collection in 2013.
Today the Naeem Khan Ready-to-Wear and Bridal collections are sold at more than 150 retail outlets across the world. The closest complete bridal selection for Nareem Khan is in Beverly Hills at the Saks Fifth Avenue on Wilshire Boulevard, but Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus do carry his incredible ready to wear collections locally.
In a traditional Chinese wedding the bride wears red (since white is the color of the mourning and is reserved for funerals) this is true in many other Asian cultures like those of Japan and Vietnam. And, of course, a bold, red, beautifully embellished sari is often the choice of a bride celebrating her Indian culture. But in Western culture it takes guts to wear a red bridal gown at your wedding. But honestly we love the girl that does go for it! Check out this beautiful down by designer Michelle Hebert in a deep rich red.
A bonus about wearing red: it tends to be flattering on almost any skintone adding vibrancy and color to your complexion.
Designer Oscar de la Renta has long been known for his love of feminine style (remember Carrie Bradshaw's Vogue bridal gown photo shoot?!), lace and flowers with a soupçon of Spanish influence added in for a special flair!
This legendary designer is still going strong with his bridal gown collection for 2017 featuring the beautiful Grace gown shown here.
It's always fun to follow all the bridal gown trends! We get to see if the next few seasons will bring more lace and illusion, or if bridal styles will point back to more traditional looks. But for bride who wants something very nontraditional an ombre or dip dyed bridal gown brings a really bohemian creative look for the big day!
Cleo and Clemetine makes beautiful ombré bridal gowns like this soft white to pink dress.
Dip dyed offers a bolder distinction between colors like this charming orange edged dress from Jenny Packham.

If you're looking for a bridal gown that melds modern sass with old-fashioned charm then Kenneth Winston is your designer. With a lovely selection of wedding gowns that feature Swarovski crystals, fine laces, and beautifully body accentuating silhouettes, Kenneth Winston speaks to the feminine, classical,Southern belle in every bride.
Every bride wants to shine. They want to sparkle. They want to be able to stand out and impress. Kenneth Winston always see brides start their dress shopping with styles that are understated and maybe even more conservative in styling. But as they've proven time and again, once a bride sparkles, they'll never settle for anything less.
With over 30 years if experience, the people behind this charming collection say "The beauty is in the details. Every design element, every intricate lace pattern, every crystal bead we put on our dresses are tirelessly thought out. After 30 years we've become masters of our craft. We create designs across the whole spectrum: From A-line ball gowns with 30,000 crystals beads to seamless all-over lace trumpet silhouettes showcasing our fine expertise in pattern making. More importantly everything flows, every piece and element makes sense. This makes our designs easy to wear and allows our brides to effortlessly walk down the aisle knowing we've taken care of all the details."
With this season's collection Kenneth Winston focused on revisiting traditional build ups and illusion backs. They took what is usually considered conservative design elements, and turned them into something sexy in a classy way, working with low back illusion lace elements, and playing with how the under layer satin slip lining could be shaped to be more revealing, but still elegant with the soft lace illusion layer. They deepened necklines and beaded beautiful new patterns to further shape silhouettes showing off and accentuating curves. And we love the results!

Are you looking for something genuinely unique for your big walk down the aisle? Well look no further than the exciting design from brilliant Lebanese designer, Gemy Maalof.
Gemy Maalouf was born and raised in Lebanon, where she grew up surrounded by the colorful materials at her father’s fabric factory. Little did she know at such a young age that she was about to embark on a life-long journey into the world of fashion, despite her parents’ wish that she study law. Further motivating her choice of career was her captivation with the designer gowns she saw on models gracing catwalks and on celebrities walking the red carpet during her adolescence. As a result, she decided that she would bring a novel approach to the industry by making haute couture more accessible to women.
Building on her desire to create simple yet intricate formal wear for sexy, modern, young and active woman with attitude, Gemy quickly developed an exceptional eye for fashion. Cultivating her innate artistic talent, she first began designing gowns for friends and neighbors at just 17 years old and gradually increased her acumen for design, working in small workshops to bring her beautiful creations to life.
By 1996, Gemy was ready to open her first atelier in Beirut, making her dream of becoming a globally recognized designer a reality. From the onset of her career, she stayed true to her initial vision and launched her first line of clothing under her name, embodying all the high-end qualities and luxury of the haute couture. The release of the collection met with much acclaim and only four years after starting her label, she reached the fashion world’s center stage when she became one of the first Lebanese designers to show at the Salon du “Prêt a Porter” in Paris.
Not one to remain satisfied with the status quo, Gemy soon sought other avenues through which she could expand her innovative designs and took an ambitious step by bringing her unique flair to the fashion-conscious bride in 2004 with the GEMY MAALOUF Bridal line. In 2006, she once again embraced progress and change with her GEMY “Le Prêt” line, which provides a complete range of formal attire, from tops and skirts to short dresses. Finally in 2007, feeling the increasing demand for her designs from a niche of clientele with lower budgets, Gemy launched her 2nd line Beside Couture by GEMY providing the style at more affordable prices.
