Bienvenido Baja! This Featured Wedding is Beautiful and The Best Day Ever!

South of the Border down Mexico way, locals know the most amazing spot to take in all the culture, beauty, food, wine and festivities that is Rosarito Beach in Baja California, Mexico!  Tony and Maleni enjoyed such a beautiful, heartfelt and fun ocean front wedding at Villa del Paraiso, an amazing estate wedding venue that brought all their family and friends together for one very good time! Tony was so stylish in his very on trend blue suit and when he saw Maleni in her wedding dress, he was overwhelmed with love and joy! What a joy it must've been to be at this wedding fiesta which overflowed with the beauty of the rugged coastline, the sunsets, the margaritas, the music. And it's obvious that, most importantly, Tony and Maleni were carried through the evening by the love, joy, and hopes for a great future from all their loved ones.

Fabulous and Fancy Mexican Fiesta Meets Coastal Cali Styled Wedding Inspiration Shoot

Living in San Diego we are lucky enough to be heavily immersed and intertwined with the rich and historic culture of Mexico. From food, to music, to architecture, we celebrate Mexico everywhere! This wedding styled shoot celebrates the vibrant, the bright, and the bold colors of traditional Mexico that infuse San Diego with a good part of its charm.  This super talented group of wedding artists came together in La Jolla to brainstorm something fresh and highlight elements from our neighbors to the south creating fantastic inspiration for the couple looking to combine rustic elements with a splash of bold color and a hint of Mexican influences. We love this shoot because it takes elements that traditionally represent Mexican culture and weaves them in with a cool coastal California wedding vibe. We could say "Olé!" all day to this beautiful style!

Looking to honor your loved ones who have passed at your wedding in a tasteful and meaningful way? Be sure to keep it respectful but yet not maudlin - your loved ones wouldn't want you to be sad on your wedding day! Try these tips:

  1.  create a nice decorated table with framed images of your loved ones - add some quotes that they were known for to help people smile in memory of them
  2. create an altar of candles for guests to light in honor of previous generations and family members
  3. family tree decor is a popular trend for good reason - check with your calligrapher to create a beautiful family tree masterpiece to display at your reception
  4. have your officiant talk about the qualities that loved ones past have brought to you and your family - the more specific you get the better; "Sara brings to her marriage the loyalty and kindness that her Grandmother Maria showed her every single day by telling her how much she loved her and believed in her."
  5. have a special song played during ceremony if the person who you are honoring is recently passed or if the loss is not as recent, play the song during your reception for all to join in in honor of all family - make sure your DJ clearly announces the meaning of the song and gets everyone up to join in and move to celebrate life in the oldest traditions; dance
  6. wear a keepsake or photo of them on you bouquet or for the guys on your lapel
  7. lighting a candle in honor of all family during your ceremony is a discreet and classic way to honor those who are not at the wedding
  8. offer a big happy toast to loved ones and name them specifically to celebrate their spirit and joie de vivre "Here's to you Grandpa Dave!!"

A bright and colorful fiesta-styled, Mexico-infused wedding steals the show!

Alison and Matt created one of the most gorgeous wedding we have seen at the very lovely Leo Carrillo Ranch wedding venue in Carlsbad, CA just north of San Diego. The creativity Alison put into her dream wedding was exquisite. Samantha Louise Moments took every idea Alison had and made it all come to life. It was truly an amazing thing to watch and wedding photographer Aaron Willcox captured every moment.

Friends and family members from all over came to help celebrate this festive and exciting wedding with their Mexican Sodas in hand. There were so many special moments during this colorful celebration with tons of Mexican tradition and ambiance everywhere you looked, with delicious food by Personal Touch Dining, the talented Mariachis, the cake cutting with Matt’s Marine Sword, plus the games and the dancing!  DJ Sage created a fun and truly memorable night for the entire group with great music that got everyone up and having the time of their lives. Congratulations Alison and Matt!
