Have you ever left a wedding reception and thought, "That was the best reception I have ever been to!!!"? What about the ones where your feet are twice the size they were starting out the night from dancing too much or your belly is so full from delicious food that you have to roll to the car? Or even the ones where you leave with a list full of ideas for your next get together, whether it was the location or decor that won you over? Well, we have found a reception that we think is a contender for Best Wedding Receptions Ever (if there was such a list)! Christian and Kendall Florido's reception was held at the Twin Oaks Garden Estate, an awesome local outdoor wedding venue. To compliment the foliage rich estate, the couple had a beautiful vintage table ensemble that featured gold chargers complimented by mint green napkins on lace runners with charming greenery and those chair bow, adorable! And to top it all off every guest got a yummy mini apple pie. Pie!! After the pies were eaten, the dance floor was a huge hit after Christian and Kendall christened the dance floor with a fun and upbeat first dance. We have to admit we wish we had crashed the Florido's wedding!
Gorgeous green hedge walls are all the rage with wedding decor and these beautiful, bright decor elements by Concepts Event Design make for a fun and fabulous decor element for any wedding or special event like this exhibit space by the US GRANT HOTEL at last Sunday's Wedding Party EXPO.
For today's featured wedding, we are going cross-country. We are just in awe over the Russel-Davis Wedding. One word: greenery. Especially since Pantone's color of the year is, ahem, green! Kristin and James had touches of greenery all throughout their wedding celebration. With a location like Charleston, South Carolina, we feel that greenery is the only way to do it right. These guys nailed it. From the Spanish Moss draped in the background to elegant green orchids with white and green hydrangea arrangements throughout, this wedding screams "Low Country affair." (What's 'Low Country" you ask? Low Country is a geographic and cultural region along South Carolina's coast, including the Sea Islands known for its historic cities and communities, natural beauty, cultural heritage, and tourism industry. It has a particular feel of gentle laid back charm and style no other place else!) Florals weren't the only place that they brought the heart and soul of South Carolina to their wedding, though. They managed to add that natural beauty to the wedding cake, place cards, programs, and invitations to really bring their theme of vintage southern elegance full circle. Excuse us while we pick our jaws up off the ground. We just love this sweet Southern style!
Roll your stockings down and grab your flask it's a swanky wedding styled shoot in an old Speakeasy that we think is just swell! Inside this story-filled venue take a gander at the pocket door leading into The Ballroom you’ll find two holes, the upper hole was utilized to visualize anyone seeking access, the lower of the two holes was utilized for the weapon that helped ensure there was no trouble.

The History of Speakeasy on State:
Finished in 1899, the Columbia building was the last building built on the first block of E. State Street and has been utilized for gatherings both large and small. Located on Redland's iconic State Street, this historic gem has been closed for use since 1948. Speakeasy on State offers 4000 square feet of elegance, mixed with beautiful hard woods, raw exposed brick, and the
finest period specific details - found nowhere else in tow. Proudly representing the heartbeat of downtown Redlands, Speakeasy on State boasts two large gathering rooms, each with their own distinct feel, a bridal suite, restrooms, and a preparation kitchen. Opposite the entrance, Speakeasy on State lets out into the charming City of Redlands Alley Park, perfect for outdoor socializing. Karl C. Wells was an astute businessman and banker in Redlands during the mid to late 1800s. Mr. Wells was responsible for donating the original land to found the University of Redlands in 1907. Wells had for a long time dreamed of owning a downtown business building but was unable until 1899. The majority of East State St. had been built up during the late 1880s; however the only structure standing at 10 E. State St. was the home of M. F. Pierce which was removed by force due to a fire ordinance enforced by the city. In 1899, Wells christened his “Columbia” building and it was first occupied by Meserve’s Clothing Store the following year. Only a few years later in 1902 the Redlands City Directory shows the upstairs of 10 E. State St. was utilized as a meeting lodge for a fraternal organization founded during the American Civil War named The Knights of Pythias.
By the late 1930s, the building was home to a chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The City of Redlands leased the VFW hall to host community dances and as a recreation center. The city continued its usage of the building through the 1940s. Following the end of World War II (1945) the VFW moved to a different location. According to the City of Redlands Archives usage of the second floor of the Columbia building during this time is lacking.
The building was most recently purchased in 2012 and the second floor has been completely restored with some modern updates. It is understood that the upstairs portion of 10 E. State St. was utilized during the Prohibition Era (1922-1933) as a speakeasy (aka. illegal drinking spots).
Speakeasy on State is still equipped with its red light which helped indicate to customers the need to hide all alcohol.
Jasmine & Daniel's compatibility was undeniable from the beginning. They met online and after their first date they both told their best friends that they'd found 'the one'! The colorful nature of San Diego's Spanish Village at Balboa Park complimented this wedding couple and their guests so well. Their bright personalities shined through and since the Groom is a brew master at a local San Diego brewery everyone enjoyed the 'pour it yourself' beer taps and a wine station. Daniel's best friend Ben became ordained and performed the ceremony and his personal experiences with the couple made this bright and happy day of love all the more special.

Floral Artist Anna Nguyen of Classic Blooms Studio: Floral Designs gives us some fabulous inspiration on San Diego Outdoor Wedding Decor... with beautiful arch structures by Concepts Event Design laden with flowers, to arrangements just for chairs, to aisle defining designs, altars and chupahs, this girl knows her outdoor floral design! These two very different decor settings offer a glimpse of this talented florist's range. The first setting shows Anna's expert use of monochromatic design; the white on white flowers with white arch, white chairs, white columns create a clean yet classic wedding ceremony set up, note the petals have hints of blush pink to add depth and interest to all the white. Anna's knack for eye popping color is clearly visible in the purple and orange designs. Her mix of forest greens and a hint of bright pink enhances the rich sheer purple drapes and variegated bamboo chairs to create a tropical and modern style chupah.

Take a peek at how sweet these handmade ring pillows are for your ring bearer! Created by Cultivar and sold on Esty we think these are just the cutest things!
Cultivar started as an accident and opened with no plan or expectations. While recovering and bedridden after brain surgery in 2009, Katie Jeanne Reim began experimenting with making fabric flowers for her new short haircut. With so much time on her hands, a few flowers quickly turned into a living room full.
As Katie grew stronger and was able to spend more time off the couch, she started a small online shop and posted a few flowers which quickly sold and motivated her to keep going and make more pieces. In the years that followed, Cultivar evolved into a real business and a very full time job.
All of Cultivar creations flowers start with reclaimed or new fabric and are hand cut, hand molded and hand sewn. Owner Katie Jeanne Reim says "I am addicted to searching for vintage jewelry, antique lace and romantic supplies to add to my creations. I just love being able to create the perfectly unique piece for a bride to show off on her wedding day and to treasure forever after....
...I have been overwhelmed with the love and support I’ve received from my customers. I may work long hours but I find joy in every minute of it. I am incredibly grateful to have my health and to spend every day doing what I love."
This beautiful styled shoot called "Fig & Fawn" was inspired by Autumn's deep, rich colors and the warmth and glow of candlelight. What could be more romantic?! We love the richness of deep plum, combined with the softness of rustic grey, contrasted with the metallic copper.
Bringing mixed metals and unique materials together created an amazing dimension of effects through pattern, color and texture. From the vintage furniture to the tablescapes, the couture wedding dress to the vibrant jewelry, nothing speaks more to rustic elegance than this eclectic mix. The tables were designed with vintage black china, gold silverware and handpicked goblets along with deep plum napkins and hand calligraphy wooden place cards. Adding incredible depth were the florals of amnesia and lavender roses, thistle, Queen Anne's lace, silver dollar eucalyptus and copper painted succulents draping down from above and across the table. The table was finished with gorgeous high-backed vintage chairs and the glow from numerous tiered brass candle sticks. Romantic and charming, we hope that this inspires all couples who are currently planning a vintage fall wedding! Please click any image to see the whole styled shoot feature...enjoy!
