Calling all '5th Avenue Princess' Brides - Here is Your Designer Bridal Gown Fashion Moment

“Breakfast At Tiffany’s” for the 5th Avenue Princess bride! "Muse" the Spring/Summer 2018 Collection by BERTA bridal gowns.

This shoot is the epitome of the raw industrial meets beautiful soft and feminine trend in fashion styled shoots right now! The gritty streets of NYC, the Brooklyn bridge, the sidewalks and street signs and yellow cabs, are all the perfect backdrop to highlight the rich feminine styles of these beautiful bridal gowns. We may be San Diegans through and through but we do <3 NY!

Romance meets Industrial in a Beautiful Contrast of Bridal Style

Capturing contrast is the essence of art. Dark and light, rough and smooth, harsh and elegant. This styled bridal shoot took place in Poland; a land of contrasts, known for beautiful women and years of history, some of it beautiful and some of it harsh. The photographer Masha found this old industrial building that used to be a military factory before the second World War and wanted to show the contrast between feminine beauty and the raw, industrial surroundings, and how cold, forgotten places can change as soon as beauty touches it.  Artists like Masha know that finding and creating beauty makes the world a better place. We couldn't agree more.

Our Age of Discovery themed Wedding Styled Shoot would make Charles Darwin swoon!

We love to play with wedding fashion and styling and look for things that, perhaps, others may not see.  We started with an ethereal muse of a beautiful, feminine spirit still happily living in, what we call, the "Age of Discovery"; that wonderful era of passionate Victorian riches and scientific discovery, with Charles Darwin at the helm of a ship finding wondrous new lands, new species and new ideas.  A time full of Victorian romance, explorations, the vast beautiful and phantasmagorical wonders of the earth and of new peoples, places and things, maybe a shipwreck or pirate or two, and the gorgeous and dramatic architecture of the time, like that reflected in the US GRANT HOTEL, the absolutely perfect home for this dramatic shoot.  Please see full credits at bottom and be sure to click on images to open to their full glory...enjoy!

With Designer Michelle Hebert's ethereal bridal gowns that harken back to an era of romance and adventure, Adrianne Smith's gorgeous and abundant florals and decor, our 'apothecarian' staging and props [hello terrariums!], Jessika Davis' breathtaking geodes and crystals that brought so much positive earth energy to the day, and Oiseau the Parrot, who was the clear star [love this green diva!] of the shoot and, yes, has his own Facebook page for his fans.

We especially love that when approached about a "somewhat ghostly, Darwin-era, age of Science and discovery, romantic, ethereal, bridal fashion styled photo shoot", all of these artists couldn't say yes fast enough! With Alta DeKoven's truly artful makeup [which you may note changes throughout the long multi-locale shoot to reflect the setting and the light!], Lia of Kut Haus Glendora's romantic, period-perfect hair styling and Vintage Jewelry Lounge's authentic accessories brought the finishing touches to the alchemy of this shoot's style!

And, of course,  the man, the artist, our incredible creative photographer Paul Douda capturing the light, the mood and the style of this special era, in fact bringing the entire soul of the shoot to life.  Honestly we couldn't be more proud to work with this amazing talented team of artists.

Special thank you to the US GRANT HOTEL for allowing us to roam your halls like happy, Darwin-era ghosts, capturing with love, the rich and historic beauty of your palatial venue!  And to our model Mather, the perfect muse for our day! When we get to work with people as awesome as this to create something so unique for the bridal fashion world we are over the moon!

Looking to honor your loved ones who have passed at your wedding in a tasteful and meaningful way? Be sure to keep it respectful but yet not maudlin - your loved ones wouldn't want you to be sad on your wedding day! Try these tips:

  1.  create a nice decorated table with framed images of your loved ones - add some quotes that they were known for to help people smile in memory of them
  2. create an altar of candles for guests to light in honor of previous generations and family members
  3. family tree decor is a popular trend for good reason - check with your calligrapher to create a beautiful family tree masterpiece to display at your reception
  4. have your officiant talk about the qualities that loved ones past have brought to you and your family - the more specific you get the better; "Sara brings to her marriage the loyalty and kindness that her Grandmother Maria showed her every single day by telling her how much she loved her and believed in her."
  5. have a special song played during ceremony if the person who you are honoring is recently passed or if the loss is not as recent, play the song during your reception for all to join in in honor of all family - make sure your DJ clearly announces the meaning of the song and gets everyone up to join in and move to celebrate life in the oldest traditions; dance
  6. wear a keepsake or photo of them on you bouquet or for the guys on your lapel
  7. lighting a candle in honor of all family during your ceremony is a discreet and classic way to honor those who are not at the wedding
  8. offer a big happy toast to loved ones and name them specifically to celebrate their spirit and joie de vivre "Here's to you Grandpa Dave!!"

A chic and fresh 'Coastal Glam' bridal styled shoot shows off the drama of bridal gown designer Haley Paige

A rooftop scene overlooking America’s finest city combined with the chic beach styling plus bridal gown Designer Hayley Paige's contemporary style, and that gorgeous Afghan dog model, makes for an awesome 'modern coastal glam' bridal styled shoot by Photographers Heather and Skip Middleton of Shadowcatcher Imagery.

The Renaissance San Diego Hotel [a new and exciting Marriott property] located in the middle of the Gaslamp district of San Diego provided a picture perfect bold and dramatic locale for this fun shoot. The models had a lot of fun inside this trendy hotel and AKC Champion Afghan show dog Bo was the star of the shoot!

When Skip, Heather and Kendra  from Shadowcatcher Imagery collaborated with Diana from At Your Side Planning to style this dramatic and one-of-a-kind shoot they pulled out all the stops. The jaw dropping bridal gowns by Hayley Paige from The White Flower Boutique brought the perfect architectural drama to this venue and shoot. The reception room was grand with a welcome champagne table, message in a bottle guest book, sea shells delicately placed throughout and the most gorgeous sweetheart table ever styled. Everything was designed with a coastal element and The Renaissance Hotel's posh style was the perfect backdrop for all this coastal glam style!

A Light Exists in Spring....A Natural Fashion Editorial Shoot by Christopher Todd

Just a little breathtaking fashion, styling, photography and beautiful nature to brighten up your day with light. We love this Bridal Fashion editorial shoot captured by Christopher TODD Studios in the open fields and rolling hills of Thomas Riley Wilderness Park, California.

With Mother Nature's stunning hues of greens and blues brightening the palette, bold natural and wild flowers bringing natural drama, a butterfly net to catch a few dreams and fabulous gowns by Pronovias Atelier and Yumi Katsura, we know you will see the light!

The Poet Emily Dickinson wrote:
A Light exists in Spring, Not present on the Year, At any other period -- When March is scarcely here.
A Color stands abroad, On Solitary Fields, That Science cannot overtake, But Human Nature feels.
It waits upon the Lawn, It shows the furthest Tree, Upon the furthest Slope you know, It almost speaks to you.
Then as Horizons step, Or Noons report away, Without the Formula of sound, It passes and we stay --
