Levant Lane brings a fresh creativity to Wedding Florals

Ever so lovely Levant Lane brings a fresh and exciting creativity to wedding florals in San Diego! The talented “gal behind the blooms”is Paola, Owner + Creative Director of Levant Lane Florals + Event Design. Wife, mama, daughter, friend and maker, Paola is based in sunny San Diego  and spends her days flowering SoCal weddings and events.

Paola believes that “Flowers have a mind and beauty of their own that’s what I love most about them. My inspiration stems from the unique artistry that flowers naturally have. I do my best to source all of my ingredients locally + organically and lean towards the season’s best to bring you arrangements that are one of a kind! When I’m not playing with florals, I’m raising my two littles, exploring my beautiful city, having brunch with my girlfriends, and dating (aka Netflix after bed time) my amazing husband. “

Romantic Winter Wedding Styled Shoot in Our Fave Little Mountain Town Outside San Diego; Julian!

Nestled away in the mountains of Southern California is the cozy little country town of Julian. Sacred Mountain Julian is the perfect venue for nuptials at any time of year, but it will truly steal your heart as the perfect setting for a Wintry themed, mountain wedding, with, of course a gorgeous couple and a beautiful Black Beauty horse model!

Lesli and Spencer, have been married for six years, but took advantage of this opportunity to relive their newlywed days and remember exactly what it was like when they first said "I do". Being that Spencer serves in the US Marine Corps, photographer Katie Hammond couldn't think of a more deserving couple to feature in her styled wedding shoot. It's lovely to see the love and fire are alive and well (and going strong!) after six years of marriage!

Drenched in rich tones of burgundy and gold, my shoot featured stunning details like two pairs of Badgley Mischka heels dripping in jewels, vast views of mountains and fields, gorgeous black horses, and black bridesmaid dresses (and they TOTALLY pulled it off!).

April Showers Brings a Romantic Peony Paradise

April is in full swing and so are those showers [well what passes for showers in San Diego!]. What May flowers are we excited to see this season, you ask? We cannot wait to see peonies galore! The peony is such a perfect option for a multitude of reasons. For one, it's so easy to work them into your budget. Whether you have a large budget to have strictly peony arrangements at every table or you have a smaller budget and just want to add accent peonies throughout your bouquets, this flower is a solid choice. Another reason to love the peony is they look great with anything you put them with. A bouquet of similarly colored roses, hydrangeas, etc is a romantic and elegant option. However, more and more couples are using greenery in their decor, and peonies are a great complement to give your wedding that modern and rustic feel. You'll see what we mean in this Southern styled wedding.

A classically inspired Styled Shoot brings color and historic drama to the present

On the scene of a 19th century garden estate, tucked away in Santa Ana, CA, a museum’s eclectic scenery lends for playful details both old and new, the perfect place for a classically feminine portrait of a stylish bride and her surroundings as she captures a few precious moments of solitude and beautiful reflection. Brought to you by the lovely Meghan of Megan Elise Photography.

Lush landscapes and rich cultural history found at The Heritage Museum of Orange County created an ethereal styled bridal shoot bustling with elements of fantasy and vintage charm.

Subtle hues of blush, white, and muted metallics combined with rich shades of amethyst and crimson created a style that is dreamy and unique, a truly delightful take on the imagery inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Ciao Bella! It's a Romantic Mona Lisa Styled Shoot in Florence, Italy

Photographer Johanna Jacobson of Ambientimages Photography has outdone herself with a gorgeous Italian styled shoot set atop the Antique Tower Via Tornabuoni and on the bridges and streets of romantic Florence, Italy. This shoot was inspired by the real Mona Lisa, or Lisa Gherardini "la Gioconda" and her enigmatic espression painted around 1503 - 1506 by Leonardo da Vinci in Florence. Mona Lisa, or Lisa del Giocondo was the wife of a rich Florentine silk merchant. Through a series of circumstances the Mona Lisa can be found at the Louvre in Paris, but in 1911 an Italian employee of the Louvre feeling patriotic, felt that the painting deserved to be in Italy. He stole the painting and attempted to sell it two years later to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Makeup artist Silvia Gerzell used golden eye shadow power and tones as a reference back to the nearby Uffizi galleries and the golden halos painstakingly applied to the saints portrayed in masterpiece works of that era. Located near Santa Trinita, where Mona Lisa spent her childhood, the Antica Torre di Tornabuoni is a historical residence built in the 1300's that Mona Lisa certainly passed by daily. We can imagine that she may have been a visitor to the property and perhaps friendly with the tower's original owners, the Gherardini family.

With an unmistakable resemblance to our famous muse, model Kristina from Look Now Model Management captures the enigmatic and undecipherable, but welcoming smile that graces the most famous painting in the world. The modern, yet romantic silhouette of Sarah Foy's wedding dress design effortlessly reminds us of a classic but aristocratic style that perfectly mirrors the renaissance monuments in the background. The red-hued Duomo in the center of Florence, along with the San Miniato al Monte church overlooking the city, all contribute to the overall feeling of La Gioconda in a modern, but historical Florence.

Smitten on Paper's gorgeous stationary reflect the pink and green pastel marble used on the intricate designs of the Duomo. The pastel pink and white blooms further contribute to this soft modern romance under a turquoise sky. The gold makeup and hues are further reflected in the choice of shoot location in front of the Ponte Vecchio where the world's finest goldsmiths sell their historical designs.
