La Jolla Wedding Shines Bright for East Coast Meets West Coast Couple

With a pink and coral palette built upon La Jolla's "Pink Lady" hotel La Valencia, live painting by a famous surrealist artist at the reception, and custom dance floors and rentals, you know this stylish wedding was one for the books!

Vanessa & Calder Epes were destined to be together! Calder was born in Buffalo New York moved to San Diego after joining the military as a Rescue Swimmer met Vanessa a San Diego native born and raised. Vanessa and Calder married at charming and Historic La Valenca Hotel in beautiful La Jolla. They were married in the ocean view terrace of La Valencia by Bishop of the National Cathedral John Chane. Cocktail hour was at sunset, wedding guests enjoyed live music by Luneaux on a gorgeous custom dance floor with bold peach coral on white by Concepts Event Design and eagerly watched live painting by famous surrealist artist Michael Richard Rosenblatt the painting was a surprise gift for the bride's Mother Gina Zivelonghi. Vanessa wore a custom fascinator gifted to her by hat designer to the stars Arturo Rios (Rhianna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are all fans of Arturo). All in all this celebration of East Coast meets West Coast made for serious magic and fun.

Mazel Tov! Danya and Josh's La Jolla wedding is a gorgeous celebration of love, joy and flowergirls!!

Mazel Tov! Danya and Josh had the most amazing wedding at Estancia La Jolla, and were married in the garden courtyard by Josh's best friend. The reception included lots of dancing, a rowdy hora, and their family and friends surprising them with a flash mob dance to "Despacito" where they took over the dance floor with bagels and coffee! They danced until 3am and had a late-night food truck to end the night with burgers and fries!

Josh and Danya met on a dating app, called coffee meets bagel. Their chemistry and connection was so strong after their first date, that Josh called his friend to tell him that he found the girl he was going to marry. Danya was drawn to Josh's kindness, ambition, integrity, sense of humor, confidence and shared value for family and love for dogs. Josh was drawn to her genuine, compassionate, and free-spirited nature, and to the close relationship she holds with family and friends. Danya and Josh both enjoy hiking with their dog Sasha, cooking together, exploring new restaurants (both foodies!), traveling, and spending time with friends and family.  After dating for a year and a half, Josh proposed on the beach where they had shared one of their first few dates. He then surprised her with a celebratory brunch surrounded by both of their families [we love this guy!!].

After the wedding, the happy couple went to Greece and Croatia for their honeymoon to start their new life together:) Thanks to San Diego wedding photographer Tim Otto for capturing this amazing wedding and sharing it with us. Mazel Tov Danya and Josh!!

Darlington House wedding is pastel perfect celebration of love, family and multi cultural wedding style in San Diego!

From Jenna and Kaj's proposal in Spain at the Parque del Retiro in Madrid to the beautiful European like village of La Jolla, California, this couple celebrated their love and family with a lovely, and love-filled, wedding. The historical Darlington House with its beautiful and rich, multi cultural decor [Andalusian Patio modeled after the style of Southern Spain with Roman arches, and benches and flooring made with Azulejo tile, Egyptian Patio with a fountain and colorful classic Egyptian tile lining the pool, classical English style Rose Garden and our favorite the Library with its dark wooden bookcases, Moroccan fireplace and a gorgeous staircase that invokes Moorish architecture] was the perfect wedding venue to represent these two and their adventurous spirits, with the inspiration for their weddings' theme coming from their travels in Spain. And to top it off, Jenna and Kai's accent of pastel colors of Pinks, Corals, Sage Green and Gold perfectly reflected the colors of the Venue.

Of course we all love how weddings bring families and friends together and collectively we all are there to witness and help create a new family. From sweet loving speeches, to tender moments with parents, and dancing and celebrating with friends, it's all a whirlwind of over-whelming and happy memories. And with extra special touches like the beautiful DIY items like hand made pottery, made by the groom's mom planted with succulents for guests gifts, and heirloom items like Jenna wearing her grandmother's bracelet, this wedding was one of kind and chock full of moments to last a life time! Enjoy and congrats to Jenna and Kai!!

This La Jolla wedding video has us crying happy tears!

From drone footage of the La Jolla coastline to charming details, and perfectly timed editing with all the right moments, this La Jolla wedding highlight video definitely has as crying happy tears (and wishing we had crashed this one)!! Well done Stockham Media!!

The couple shares their story: "We met at Joey’s house, the surf house in North PB, at the very end of college. We both went to UCSD, though he did a 5th year. We had hung out another time or 2, but always with a large group of people. Then a year later we ran into each other at Outside Lands in San Francisco. We hung out a lot that day, and I was the one that asked him for his number. He was the first one to wish me happy birthday at midnight that night (besides my sister and friend I was with).  Joey then had an “extra ticket” to a show in San Diego a couple weeks later, and I happened to be down there that same weekend. So our first “date” was the Handsome Furs at the Casbah. Then he had another ticket to another show, and by the third, he finally kissed me, and we’ve been together ever since, even when I moved to Hawaii for almost a year right as we started dating."

Kelly and Joseph were married at the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla, where the two attended college together.
