Flawless Wedding Day Backdrop Provided by ... Hornblower Events!

Chances are, whether you live in or have just visited San Diego, you've been on a Hornblower Harbor Cruise. Be it a tour of the bay, a dining cruise offered for brunch or dinner, or a wedding with downtown San Diego as the backdrop. They have something for everyone, and the weddings with Hornblower are nothing short of spectacular. To start the process, Hornblower provides a wedding planner to make that special day go that much smoother. These experts will be able to help make the event exactly how you envisioned at the price you hoped it would be. When browsing the Weddings section on their site, you will see they offer special prices for certain seasonal dates. They also provide enhancements, such as a DJ or custom florals that match your wedding style, to make your day that much more special. Christy and Scott Duncan chose to say their vows onboard the Hornblower, and it was breathtaking. See for yourself below!

San Diego's Own Horton Plaza Park Now Hosting Local Outdoor Weddings

Your dreams can now finally become a reality. The historic Horton Plaza Park is now available to rent for weddings!

Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, Horton Plaza would be the perfect spot for a multitude of reasons. For one, it's close proximity to countless hotels for out-of-town guests is beyond perfect. You and/or your guests can simply walk to the hotel after the festivities are over and not think twice about it. Another big reason we love the idea of the Horton Plaza is its location in relation to other entertainment options. Once the wedding is over, the party doesn't have to stop! With 16 city blocks of more than 60 bars and nightclubs to choose from, you are never left wandering, "What should we do now?" And finally, we love the customizable options that are provided. Whether you think the lush garden lawn is more "you" or the more modern cityscape is what your heart desires, Horton Plaza can accommodate whatever it may be. Don't take our word for it! Check out this exciting and unique San Diego wedding venue for yourself!

Savoring the Wedding Day with a Mid Century Style Wedding Reception

John and Katie met through something they both truly love; dancing Argentine tango. Taking tango classes from the same teacher in San Diego over many months they began to feel a deep connection until one day they knew it was love!  After the proposal, both Katie and John knew of the San Diego Woman's Club from tango dances held there. In the evening light, it's easy to envision the ambiance of an elegant late 40's/early 50's dinner and dance club when looking at this grand old building and since Katie had already selected a dress in an early mid-Century style, [the Woman's Club was built in 1948] a vintage wedding theme was born! This sweet, lovely lady of a venue had everything they were looking for: a large, beautiful dance floor [of course!], space for 200 guests, an accessible location, and a tango connection. We think you will love this charming featured wedding shot by Derek Chad Photography.... Having both been married before and experiencing all that a wedding can entail, both Katie and John wanted to be sure really savor and remember all the details and hired wedding coordinator At Your Side Planning, which sure helped! Mainly they both truly cared about their people being happy, taking a moment to really celebrate life, hope and love. Looks like they absolutely got their wish!

Home is where the heart is (and the dancing chickens!)

You know we love to showcase weddings at gorgeous venues in exciting locations like resorts, hotels, wineries and yachts and all...but can you keep a secret? We are suckers for the home wedding. Let’s face it for thousands of years everyone celebrated their wedding reception at home! Your family and your village would come together to create your wedding reception out of love and loyalty to your clan. Sigh! So here is one wedding that we just love that took place locally at a home near San Diego area with a celebration clearly enjoyed by all… including chickens on the dance floor. You just can't top dancing chickens...

Thanks This Rad Love Photography for getting us inside this lovely [and clearly fun!] celebration. See the whole wedding here.
