All the elements come together to make an extra special rainy wedding day shine!

Sometimes it rains on your wedding day, even in San Diego, but you know what...with love, a great perspective, a wedding venue as gorgeous as the Temecula Creek Inn and all the elements coming together like this, it just doesn't matter!

This happy bride says "Our inspiration for the wedding day was nature; and nature showed up big time with a very rare rainy stormy spring day in Temecula! Our original vision was of a sunny outdoor event surrounded by trees and greenery with bright rich spring colored flowers. We wanted a relaxed outdoor gathering that showcased our beautiful venue and our love for nature. We stuck to our nature theme with plantable seed paper invitations, sustainable menu provided by our venue, colorful flowers everywhere and lawn games and fire pits to keep people spread out enjoying the day. We incorporated both of our inspirations into the wedding décor; I wanted a boho feel with Moroccan colors and textures and my husband wanted a rustic feel with woods and natural touches. We named our style ‘eclectic rustic bohemian’. We were a little non-traditional and had no groomsmen or bridesmaids, and my sister was our ceremony officiant. We had no true color scheme, I just wanted bright vibrant spring colors richly saturating the whole wedding, the venue and flowers were really the focus."

This happy bride continues..."Some of my favorite elements were things that reflected us; gold silverware and multicolored glassware really showed off my personal style and the wood grain cake, wooden details, and amber glass vases were some of my husbands favorites. Our coordinator/designer/florist really helped bring my vision into reality and made sure to have all the little details we wanted. Our cake was a simple white with a wood grain look draped with our colorful flowers, it was one of our all-time favorite parts of the wedding look. We also incorporated little themes into the details that were really just for my husband and I. We love the Southern California hummingbirds that represent spring and nature to us so we hid little hummingbirds in many aspects, from our invitation, to our personalized wedding favor fleece blankets, to wooden signs. We also incorporated mixed metals and golds into the décor to accent the yellow gold in our wedding rings."

San Diego Featured Wedding: Jeff and Stephanie's Rainy Day Wedding

We all know that an unexpected rain shower isn't exactly ideal. It's especially unwelcome on your wedding day! However, Jeff and Stephanie Yue got a little rain on their big day [the song is wrong it can rain in California!] , and they completely owned it, embracing the rain, which is really all anyone can do. They had the bridal party all buy clear umbrellas and the results are amazing-- their pictures are so fun and exciting! The rain definitely didn't stop this crew from making it the best day ever.

This Magical Wedding Is One for the Fairytales (and apparently the Jurassic Period)

Ciara and Shane Miller certainly know how to think outside of the box. That's what we loved most about this couple's magical wedding! The two actually met when they were in high school and started dating a few years later. Three years later Shane proposed on New Year's Eve. The couple decided to get married on the beautiful Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos. A very special addition to this couple's photo gallery is a rare sighting of a wedding crashing T-Rex!

Spring Showers May Be Just What Your Wedding Photos Need

Your wedding day is full of constant worry like 'what about inclement weather?' A few tips for your big day...

Whether you choose to let someone else do the worrying for you, or you are prone to being the biggest worrywart, there are many things that can go wrong. So, fact is, worry is a big part of any wedding. Some of these concerns can be controlled, but some of these are way out of our control, like the weather. We can all agree that the weather has the potential to either make or break an event. What is important to remember, is that even if the weather does not work out in your favor, (even in San Diego!) you have the opportunity to make something spectacular out of it.  Chelsea and Courey Marshall's wedding happened to take place during a massive rainstorm.  But this couple managed to not only keep their cool, but also flourish during what could have been a major downer [beside being a downpour!] So, with May showers tickling the part of your brain that catalogs worries, don't have a melt down if your perfect day is accompanied by a little shower. Instead, take a deep breath, make whatever changes you need to make to adjust, and just have fun! If you keep your cool, and focus on the love, no matter the weather, we know that you'll end up with some awesome wedding photographs and memories like these! What to do if your outdoor wedding day forecast is rain....

1. Call a reliable rental company and rent a tent we recommend Classic Party Rentals or Intent Productions and have worked with both with incredible results.

2. Ask your wedding venue what they recommend. A professional reception venue should have an idea or a contingency plan in place.

3. If you are on your own or DIY'd at a park or home reach out to local indoor venues near your reception location {even restaurants) that may be able to accommodate you at the last minute.

3. Stay calm - and if you didn't hire a wedding planner already see if you can get one now! These people really know their stuff and a professional wedding planner will have handled emergencies far worse than this many times over and will know how to save your day! Plus they may have a few connections with venues to get you warm and dry!

4. Review the odds....It seems like the local weather services often forecast more precipitation than ever actually occurs... On average San Diego, California sees 21 days with some precipitation while the rest of the country sees about 110. The national average for mostly sunny days is 213 while San Diego's is 267.

4. Rent gorgeous rain umbrellas from Bella Umbrella and go for it anyway!  It's just rain it won't kill you and you may just have the time of your life!

Fairbanks Ranch Wedding Proves Rain Really Is Good Luck on Your Wedding Day!

These gorgeous photos of Nicole and Ryan's wedding looks like a picture perfect sunny San Diego celebration of love... but this affable couple actually showed they have what it takes to navigate life's surprises with a few exciting twists and turns on the big day!

This lovely peach and mint green wedding at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony overlooking the waterfront, but some unexpected rain [in San Diego, California!!?] brought the celebration inside to the reception area.

Although the wedding party and the bride had to work around a few dinner tables, there was nothing but smiles and love and lots of "but rain is good luck on a wedding day!"  Fortunately Nicole and Ryan also had selected a rock star coordinator in Carmel Hemsley. Carmel did the flowers herself and arranged all the catering, bar and DJ. And you know what... it turns out rain is good luck on your wedding day!

"It never rains in California but girl don't they warn you...."

You may be too young to remember that song but it does seem like it never rains here right? But as today proves it does! So what's a girl to do? Why you rent beautiful umbrellas of course from Bella Umbrella. Based in Seattle, Bella Umbrellas knows their rainy days!  And since you rarely need a rain umbrella in San Diego their wide range of rentals fits the bill perfectly!

What's the difference between umbrellas and parasols? Rule of thumb is that umbrellas are for rain and parasols ['para'=with and 'sol'= sun] are for sun.
