Romantic Winter Wedding Styled Shoot in Our Fave Little Mountain Town Outside San Diego; Julian!

Nestled away in the mountains of Southern California is the cozy little country town of Julian. Sacred Mountain Julian is the perfect venue for nuptials at any time of year, but it will truly steal your heart as the perfect setting for a Wintry themed, mountain wedding, with, of course a gorgeous couple and a beautiful Black Beauty horse model!

Lesli and Spencer, have been married for six years, but took advantage of this opportunity to relive their newlywed days and remember exactly what it was like when they first said "I do". Being that Spencer serves in the US Marine Corps, photographer Katie Hammond couldn't think of a more deserving couple to feature in her styled wedding shoot. It's lovely to see the love and fire are alive and well (and going strong!) after six years of marriage!

Drenched in rich tones of burgundy and gold, my shoot featured stunning details like two pairs of Badgley Mischka heels dripping in jewels, vast views of mountains and fields, gorgeous black horses, and black bridesmaid dresses (and they TOTALLY pulled it off!).

Downtown Gallery Styled Wedding Shoot Brings Industrial Texture and Rich Watercolor Pastels Together

Downtown Gallery Styled Wedding Shoot Brings the trend of gorgeous Brick Industrial Texture and Rich Watercolor Pastels Together

Industrial hard meets pretty is so hot right now in fashion and editorial! And at the exciting Sparks Gallery in Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, the rough brick and deep wood contrasting with the exciting and bright colors in the artwork make the perfect set up for the dynamism of Justice Photography. This shoot is the perfect blend of strong lines and textures and soft colors and styling. Bonus: it even has a gorgeous geode cake, floral decorated picture frames [love!] and crystal place settings in Pantone's Color of the Year for 2108 Ultra Violet! This super design team is so on trend for weddings and style and we think they've created the perfect blend of the masculine and the feminine with this dramatic and fresh wedding styled shoot! Enjoy!

Melissa Barrad, Owner of I DO Weddings and Events and Lead Stylist in the shoot says, "Once I visited the Sparks Gallery, I knew it was a special place. I loved the lighting, and of course, that they feature California artists. With that in mind, we pooled together California based vendors and San Diego natives, like myself, to create a unique romantic feel with a laid-back vibe. We wanted to work with colors that would enhance the art, not take away from it."

San Diego Featured Wedding: Dustin + Taylor Wed on the Ranch

So you know barn and ranch weddings are all the rage on Instagram and Pinterest. Well Dustin and Taylor had the ranch wedding of any cowgirl's dreams! Their wedding reception location was at a real ranch - the lovely Hazy Meadow Ranch in Lakeside, CA. The couple made this venue look like home with their rustic attire and and country style - hello cowboy hats, horse drawn carriages and you guessed it - barbeque for dinner! The bride even ditched her heels and danced the night away in her cowgirl boots. Let us be the first to say-- we can't get enough of it! This classic country couple ended the evening by two stepping into their new life together to, of course, classic country hits.

Boho, Rustic Wedding Styled Shoot lights up the Temecula Night Sky with Style

Our favorite styled wedding shoot of the week has arrived! This tableau was designed and planned by Mallory of MHM Weddings and captured through the lenses of Jamielyn Craft Photography. This all-star duo created a wonderfully, planned wedding ensemble. From the cake to the hair and make up to the invitation suite; their creation was nothing short of boho-tastic! We are in love with the rustic and vintage feel of the backdrop at Tres Lagos that set the tone for this awe-inspiring shoot.

San Diego Featured Wedding Goes Cross Country: The Barn Wedding you've been waiting for!

We've found them. We've found the king and queen of the wedding style that took this year by storm; "rustic elegance." This has definitely been a major trend lately, and Chip and Hollie Williams have mastered the look. We found this couple across the country in West Virginia, where they were married with over 300 guests in attendance! The ceremony was actually delayed due to rain, but with a venue like Virginia's Confluence Resort, we can understand why everyone stuck around! Of course the bride and groom were the stars of the show, however, the barn backdrop certainly is hard to take your eye of off! All of the little rustic details, such as the lace detailing, gorgeous florals and vintage couch, made for stunning pictures.

San Diego Featured Wedding: Shannon + Joshua's Backyard Dream Wedding

Shannon and Joshua Pennywitt's wedding day was nothing short of charming. The couple chose to have both the ceremony and reception in Shannon's grandparent's backyard which was transformed into a romantic paradise. We love everything from their signature drinks to the rustic decor. The breathtaking hydrangea and rose flower arrangements gave the tree stumps a delicate touch to soften the pieces. We also love the idea of a cupcake studded wedding cake. It's a great, cost-effective way to add some variety to your traditional wedding cake. All you need is love and cupcakes!

Featured La Jolla Wedding: Ashley + Danny Mix and Match Their Way to True Love

La Jolla's own Darlington House was a great location for this featured couple because they are just that-- darling!! The love that these two share is so evident in these pictures, that we couldn't stand not sharing these with everyone! The theme had a mix and match rustic charm feel. It all came together beautifully and resulted in an authentic, unique day of celebration. We love the idea of mixing and matching bridesmaids dresses, but Ashley and Danny Jimenez took a step further and mix and matched the groomsmen attire. It. Looks. Awesome. We love this feature because you can instantly feel the love that these friends and family share for this couple through the importance of their faith and just pure joy on everyone's faces. Enjoy!

Rustic Native Wedding Color Palette Board Showcases Bold Colors

Here's a photo from the Native American styled shoot we did a while back showcasing gorgeous rustic native colors with an awesome photo by She Wanders Photography.  Love these bold rich colors for an outdoor wedding setting in San Diego - all the local wedding venues that have trees, rolling fields and lots of grass are the perfect palette for boldness.

Bringing the garden inside with a styled shoot at one of San Diego's loveliest wedding venues

An indoor wedding venue feels like a beautiful outdoor garden ceremony location with a styled shoot that brings the beauty of nature inside.

"If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden." wrote Author Frances Hodgson Burnett in the classic story 'The Secret Garden'.

We are starting the month of December with a warm indoors secret garden styled shoot feature! The amazing team that styled this wedding shoot wanted to turn the beautiful Luce Loft wedding venue into a forgotten garden dreamscape both industrial and overgrown with a touch of whimsical. With its white-washed brick, concrete and copper elements this shoot brings a beautiful contrast of industrial against naturally wild botany like ferns and ivy. Most San Diego wedding vendors see their fair share of outdoor weddings, but Luce Loft has amazing indoor venues as well that was captured here by Fog and Dawn Photography. Creating a theme that brought the garden inside brings inspiration for couples who are getting married in San Diego's cooler Winter months.

Rustic Ranch Wedding in Alpine shows off San Diego's country side

Happy sunflowers on a sunny day and beautiful farmland as far as the eye can see ... nothing says 'rustic San Diego wedding' like a ranch in East County’s charming town of Alpine. Colibri Ranch, a rich farmland property just east of San Diego, boasts so many unique props and focal points: old rusty tractors, water towers, carts, flower boxes - the locations were endless and created a beautiful, earthy and rustic wedding celebration of love!
