Well those talented Fabulous Cake Girls at CAKE have done it again! Check out this absolutely positively adorable Alice in Wonderland themed cake. Why it's almost too pretty to eat and is perfect for a special tea time or bridal shower tea!
“Yes, that's it! Said the Hatter with a sigh, it's always tea time.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
As the famous 1930's Parisian songbird Edith Piaf sang "Hold me close and hold me fast, The magic spell you cast, This is la vie en rose, When you kiss me heaven sighs, And tho I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose." La Vie en Rose is the blissful, rosy way we view life in love and Stephanie and Matthew's beautiful Parisian themed wedding truly celebrated La Vie en Rose! The gorgeous pink roses, the pink champagne, that beautiful cake and the bridesmaids dresses, the custom dance floor and of course, the Westgate Hotel's gorgeous interior brought together a rosy day of love and joy. From the beginning when Matthew proposed to Stephanie at the top of Las Vegas' version of the Eiffel Tower to their selection of the gorgeous [and very French styled] Westgate Hotel they envisioned a very elegant, Parisian wedding reception theme that led right up to their honeymoon, which, Stephanie and Matthew will, you guessed it... spend in Paris, France!

San Diego's top bridal show celebrated its 39th show at Venues at Liberty Station with tons of amazing wedding pros and ideas, cake tasting, catered food, cocktails, fashion show and the winner of the Most Adorable Doggie Ringbearer Contest Rocco! We had a blast at this fun day of the best local wedding planning and style. We loved seeing so many talented companies all in one place.
Sometimes bad things happen to good weddings! Like a cake-decimating accident right before the reception. (little warning: this image may be upsetting to cake bakers, chefs and experienced wedding pros!)
Fortunately this couple had hired a truly amazing dream team of Amy Ulkutekin of First Comes Love and Sharon Mintz Organic Elements florals and the wedding was being held at one of our favorites the La Valencia Hotel [who has a pastry chef with some serious skills]. And voila! Here is the fixed up cake ready to be celebrated and enjoyed with no one the wiser. Whew!
What couples do not know about wedding planning is a lot.....Like we always say: hire the best then let them do what they do best!
Set your DVR for tonight because local fave Cute Cakes in Escondido is going to be on @foodnetwork! Don't miss Briana and #TeamCuteCakes on #CakeWars! Tune in Monday June 6th (or check your local TV listings for the Season Premier) So thrilled for this great local bakery team and wish @cakes_ondeck14 the best in the competition!
The beautiful deep purple, smooth surface of this cake by the geniuses at San Diego based CAKE (ahem, Winners of Food Network's Cake Wars!!) will have your guests oohing and ahhing before they even take the first bite! With this much color and style this gorgeous cake would take the cake at many weddings, but we think it would really wow at a bold and colorful museum of art or a chic downtown penthouse setting! You can visit the lovely artists behind all of CAKE's masterpieces and see what keeps them passionately creating new works of culinary art, right in the heart of Uptown San Diego at their bakery on Reynard Street.
Antique doors, vintage rentals, beautiful florals and Jack Daniels Groom's cake ..Kelsey and Robert's charming outdoor wedding at The Inn At Rancho Santa Fe was a lovely (and fun!) celebration of style, love and family and friends.
This thoughtful Bride considered every aspect of the day to make their guests comfortable and entertained throughout their celebration; as guests arrived they found lemonade, bottled water and parasols waiting for them. The ceremony site was beautifully decorated with vintage rentals (oh that gorgeous double door!), cascading floral arrangements, and a metal arch with a chandelier. At cocktail hour, vintage seating areas were scattered on the lawn for guests to mingle and enjoy. Handmade bar signs listed the signature cocktails, bride’s and groom’s favorites.
An open air photo booth next to cocktails was a real favorite with guests. Photos hung on a vintage velvet backdrop made the perfect photo gallery. Their seated reception featured specialty lace overlays, adorable table numbers and menu cards, and personalized macaron favors and instead of escort cards, Kelsey and Robert rented an antique door to display the seating chart. Cake and dessert tables (one for Kelsey and one for Robert with a bottle of Jack Daniels as the groom’s cake- you gotta love a Jack Daniels Groom's cake!) was a real crowd favorite! At the end of the day the guests went home with a lovely lavender sachet and wonderful memories of a night filled with fun, laughter, dancing and of course, love.

Natasha and Calvin’s romance has taken them from London to Southern California. It started years ago in England; where Natasha grew up and Calvin played basketball for a London team. Natasha and Calvin's love story was filled with gold, flowers, amazing views that only La Jolla's own La Valencia Hotel [known locally as the Pink Lady] can offer. Click here to see the full wedding in all its golden and glittery beauty...
Their day was rich with love -check out how wedding and event designer SD Weddings by Gina and wedding florist Flowers by Azhar collaborated to create a blushing pink and gold theme that fits the venue perfectly!] and celebrated in a special language that only they understands, but even a stranger can understand their sophisticated and romantic wedding style captured expertly by local wedding photographer ABM Photography.
There is nothing like great wedding cake! This ritual is so important to a wedding reception and the cutting of the cake [like the breaking of bread] is a symbol that two families that were separate are now one! So you definitely want to make sure you celebrate your union with tasty and beautiful wedding cake like the delectable creations of Cake Artist Jennywenny Cakes!
Jennywenny Cakes taste as good on the inside as they look on the outside and that's saying a lot...you will say it too when you taste these yummy cakes... just don't say it with your mouth full of cake...
