Al Fresco Ambiance Makes this San Diego Wedding at Green Acres a Must See

For their extra special San Diego wedding, Kate and Bud loved the urban yet green ambiance of Green Acres, and strived for a outdoor and nontraditional reception.  She loves moody colors so the florals range from different shades of red with lots of textures of greenery all of which paired beautifully with the velvet mauve linens. The outcome was an urban, romantic, al fresco ambiance that we just love!

Do you believe in fate? In lovers that were meant to be together no matter what? When we heard about Bud & Kate, we just knew they were meant to be and it gave us goosebumps!  In her early 20's, Kate was in a bad car accident where, thankfully, a good Samaritan [hero!] bystander pulled her out of the car where she was unconscious. Flash forward a couple years to one night when she was out with friends and spotted a guy that she was very attracted to....they ended up chatting, (he felt the attraction too), and they exchanged numbers.  On their first date they discovered it was Bud that had pulled her out of the car!  You can't call that coincidence! Their connection was instant and so powerful, and they've been inseparable ever since.

This North County Outdoor White Wedding is a Study in Classic Wedding Style

This gorgeous North County San Diego outdoor wedding, shot by local wedding photographer and artist Maryanne McGuire, is a study in classic wedding style wedding! The green and elegant Twin Oaks Wedding Estate is the perfect venue to bring this bride's vision all together in style.

Says the bride" I had always dreamed of getting married outside in a forest-like setting.  In looking for venues, we wanted a forest-like/ garden-like feel that was close to our California family and easily accessible to our out-of-state family.  Twin Oaks was the perfect combination of greenery and elegance.  The old school house was also perfect for us, as we started our careers teaching across the hall from one another.  We could not have asked for more a perfect venue.  Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. It was the perfect day!" Our favorite touch? The best kept secret, awwww-inducing, moment when the Groom brought out the wedding ring from the Bride's great grandmother (her grandmother snuck it to the Groom without her knowing it even existed :)!] Now that's a really classic touch by a true gentleman in love!

Charming Engagement Shoot Shows off a Fun and Vibrant True Love Under the pier

Thanks Paul Douda Photography for sending us this dynamic and charming engagement shoot at Scripps Pier in La Jolla. Jillian & Dax have an undeniable chemistry and we just love this couple (and this oh so San Diego shoot) that is so playful and genuinely full of vibrancy and love.

Says photographer Paul, "Working with them for their Valentine's Day mini session at Scripps Pier in La Jolla was so much fun. For two people who are generally uncomfortable in front of the camera, they had a blast laughing and playing at the beach."

Jillian & Dax got off to a slow start when they met at a San Diego nightclub, Atomic, where Jillian was a bartender. According to the both of them, they couldn't stop staring at each other for months of going there every Tuesday but were also too shy to make the first move. Finally in December of 2016, Jill decided to make the first move and ask out Dax out on a date. From then on, their romance has blossomed and was on the fast track to their engagement on New Years Eve 2017! Congratulations Jillian and Dax!

Winery Wedding Video Highlights Love, Beautiful Land and an Awesome Sunset!

We love our local wineries and the people who work so hard to bring the age old tradition of farming the land [and making wine!] to life in our day and age. And of course we love local winery wedding venues! Check out this winery wedding highlight reel by Aspect Media Works!

Bride Rosie tells us "David and I have met in San Diego four years ago and fell in Love immediately. Our engagement was an absolute fairytale so I knew I wanted our wedding to be the same. As a hairstylist and makeup artist I have been behind the scenes at so many weddings, so going into planning our wedding I knew exactly what we wanted and what we didn’t.

We chose to keep it small and romantic so we chose Milagro Winery which is hidden in the hills of Ramona. It is an absolute dream venue! Their day of coordination was amazing and made my dream a reality not to mention they have really good wine. We also found a one stop shop with our caterers, they provided all the food, cake, beverages, linens, and rental furniture decor. They were a breeze to work with, they completely customized our menu to stick with the BBQ/comfort food we wanted.

When it comes to the day-of everything went off without a hitch thanks to all my amazing vendors. We had a small 60 person wedding with just close friends and family. It was very important to us to keep it personal and intimate, so we had my husbands best friend that he was in the Marines officiate our ceremony, which made it perfect.  The reception was just as amazing, from the great food, flowers, music, and company it’s definitely a day we will remember forever. And now can relive it everyday with our amazing video and pictures we have. Our videographer was such a breeze to work with and really captured the pure emotion and joy of that day and I can’t thank him enough for that. "

La Jolla Wedding Shines Bright for East Coast Meets West Coast Couple

With a pink and coral palette built upon La Jolla's "Pink Lady" hotel La Valencia, live painting by a famous surrealist artist at the reception, and custom dance floors and rentals, you know this stylish wedding was one for the books!

Vanessa & Calder Epes were destined to be together! Calder was born in Buffalo New York moved to San Diego after joining the military as a Rescue Swimmer met Vanessa a San Diego native born and raised. Vanessa and Calder married at charming and Historic La Valenca Hotel in beautiful La Jolla. They were married in the ocean view terrace of La Valencia by Bishop of the National Cathedral John Chane. Cocktail hour was at sunset, wedding guests enjoyed live music by Luneaux on a gorgeous custom dance floor with bold peach coral on white by Concepts Event Design and eagerly watched live painting by famous surrealist artist Michael Richard Rosenblatt the painting was a surprise gift for the bride's Mother Gina Zivelonghi. Vanessa wore a custom fascinator gifted to her by hat designer to the stars Arturo Rios (Rhianna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are all fans of Arturo). All in all this celebration of East Coast meets West Coast made for serious magic and fun.
