San Diego's Own Horton Plaza Park Now Hosting Local Outdoor Weddings

Your dreams can now finally become a reality. The historic Horton Plaza Park is now available to rent for weddings!

Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, Horton Plaza would be the perfect spot for a multitude of reasons. For one, it's close proximity to countless hotels for out-of-town guests is beyond perfect. You and/or your guests can simply walk to the hotel after the festivities are over and not think twice about it. Another big reason we love the idea of the Horton Plaza is its location in relation to other entertainment options. Once the wedding is over, the party doesn't have to stop! With 16 city blocks of more than 60 bars and nightclubs to choose from, you are never left wandering, "What should we do now?" And finally, we love the customizable options that are provided. Whether you think the lush garden lawn is more "you" or the more modern cityscape is what your heart desires, Horton Plaza can accommodate whatever it may be. Don't take our word for it! Check out this exciting and unique San Diego wedding venue for yourself!

An Old School Spanish Haceinda and Vineyard for Your Wedding is Right in San Diego's Backyard!

How did we not know about Hacienda Vineyards wedding venue before now??! All this time we've been sitting here on the coast, thinking about driving to Temecula for a fun winery experience, not realizing that there was a gorgeous, old school, Spanish styled hacienda and vineyard just twenty minutes from downtown San Diego! It's like stepping back in time to a beautiful, relaxing, abundant era of riches and style. Take a peek at this gorgeous styled shoot by Photographer Amy Millard on site at Hacienda Vineyard and tell us you don't want run down there for a glass of wine and a relaxing day of soaking up the trees, with the surrounding hillsides lush with 9 acres of foliage framing a never ending sky that watches over their vast lawns 1930's era Spanish House.

The grand Vineyard Hacienda-style residence at Vineyard Hacienda wedding ceremony and reception venue was carefully constructed in the 1930s in true old-style Spanish tradition; adobe, red Spanish tile, and authentic hardwoods add an element of history and tradition. Vineyard Hacienda offers an extensive variety of locations, both indoor and outdoor, to meet the needs of even the most discriminating guest, and is above all fabulous secluded, private, secure, and peaceful gated property in a unique and beautiful event setting.

This Week's Wedding Crush Wednesday Says a Fashion-Forward "I Do"

This week's Wedding Crush Wednesday features Alex and Ljubov Ovtsinnikovas from Russia/Estonia! These two said their vows in Centennial Park on Coronado with some of the best views of San Diego! While we already think these two are gorgeous, we love their winter ensembles too. With the coastal breeze and cool San Diego nights a night on the waterfronts can get a little chilly.  Ljubov's cropped jacket, and bright red  bouquet combined with Alex's stunning royal blue suit [very European!] makes the couple pop from their backgrounds. The Ovtsinnikovas' statement pieces are show-stoppingly perfect and showcase their style, their attitude and their love. Südamlikud õnnesoovid pulmapäevaks! (Congratulations from the heart on your wedding)!

This San Diego Couple's Rustic Wedding Reception Is One for the Books

Have you ever left a wedding reception and thought, "That was the best reception I have ever been to!!!"? What about the ones where your feet are twice the size they were starting out the night from dancing too much or your belly is so full from delicious food that you have to roll to the car? Or even the ones where you leave with a list full of ideas for your next get together, whether it was the location or decor that won you over? Well, we have found a reception that we think is a contender for Best Wedding Receptions Ever (if there was such a list)! Christian and Kendall Florido's reception was held at the Twin Oaks Garden Estate, an awesome local outdoor wedding venue. To compliment the foliage rich estate, the couple had a beautiful vintage table ensemble that featured gold chargers complimented by mint green napkins on lace runners with charming greenery and those chair bow, adorable! And to top it all off every guest got a yummy mini apple pie. Pie!! After the pies were eaten, the dance floor was a huge hit after Christian and Kendall christened the dance floor with a fun and upbeat first dance. We have to admit we wish we had crashed the Florido's wedding!

This Week's Wedding Crush Wednesday Showcases a Quintessential San Diego Wedding

This week, we are featuring the quintessential luxury San Diego wedding! Chris and Marisa Mendivil celebrated their marriage in all the places we love in San Diego, California! From an engagement shoot in San Diego's famous Balboa Park [check!], wedding ceremony at the Immaculata [check!!] all the way through to their gorgeous wedding reception at the incredible US GRANT HOTEL, what we love most about this couple's wedding is their location choices. Marisa is a graduate from the University of San Diego, so the couple wanted to have their ceremony at the Immaculata Church on campus with its breathtaking ceiling and grandeur. Next on the night's agenda was the formal wedding reception in the US GRANT HOTEL's dreamy Crystal Room - a space that has to be seen to be believed! This Victorian era hotel, full of San Diego history and love, just experienced a multi million dollar refurbishing face lift and has never looked better! We invite you to see for yourself!

Fairbanks Ranch Wedding Proves Rain Really Is Good Luck on Your Wedding Day!

These gorgeous photos of Nicole and Ryan's wedding looks like a picture perfect sunny San Diego celebration of love... but this affable couple actually showed they have what it takes to navigate life's surprises with a few exciting twists and turns on the big day!

This lovely peach and mint green wedding at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony overlooking the waterfront, but some unexpected rain [in San Diego, California!!?] brought the celebration inside to the reception area.

Although the wedding party and the bride had to work around a few dinner tables, there was nothing but smiles and love and lots of "but rain is good luck on a wedding day!"  Fortunately Nicole and Ryan also had selected a rock star coordinator in Carmel Hemsley. Carmel did the flowers herself and arranged all the catering, bar and DJ. And you know what... it turns out rain is good luck on your wedding day!

Purple and blue make the perfect combo for a beautiful woodland castle wedding

"The perfect recipe for this incredible May wedding… "  says Officiant Jason Nathan about the wonderful couple of Rachel and Chad and the beautiful location of Mt. Woodson Castle,  read on....

"On this oh so special Saturday, Rachel and Chad’s love story, which began three years earlier with a “wink”, celebrated the coming together of their two hearts with a wedding ceremony that honored their incredible relationship and their strong relationship with their families. From the initial moments of their epic seven hour long first date to a radiant Rachel walking down the aisle with her father, I think everyone knew how perfect this couple is together. The ceremony was meaningful and personal with moments of their love story being shared and vows written and delivered by the couple that were so heartfelt and beautiful, the Grinch himself would have smiled and teared up. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed the beautiful mountain air as they had cocktails and dinner and then danced the magical night away." Thank you Jason we feel like we got to be there too!

A charming 'KISS' San Diego wedding 'Keeps It Small and Simple' at the County Courthouse

Photographer Paul Douda knows how to capture love! When Paul photographed Veronica and Luis' intimate and very personal wedding, he knew that by following the wedding KISS theory [Keep It Small & Simple] they were able to really do whatever they wanted.  This charming couples wanted above all to celebrate from the heart with just their family, which we think is pretty special! They kept the ceremony to family only then included their whole world for a celebration a few months later. We love this wedding because it may be small but it's mighty full of love!
