Kelsey & Marlon’s relationship started as a beautiful friendship which quickly grew romantic after a few months. Both Kelsey & Marlon are very into sports and lead healthy and active life styles together and separately. One of their favorite games to play together is a basketball game called “Knock Out”, a game Kelsey & her father came up with and used to play throughout her life. He passed away in 2011 and this special activity lives on through Kelsey & Marlon. While in Las Vegas for a volleyball tournament, Marlon decided to bring Kelsey’s father’s basketballs for a destination game of knock out where he proposed in the middle of the court! Fast forward to their Summer wedding in San Diego…
Kelsey & Marlon live in Northern California but have many roots in San Diego so decided to plan their destination wedding on the harbor. The day started with an early morning wedding workout at their La Jolla AirBNB where they also had their first look! Their wedding was held at Coasterra overlooking the San Diego skyline (one of the best views of the city, in my opinion). It was important to celebrate their families so Kelsey & Marlon kept their wedding party very simple and had their mothers (and Marlon’s grandmother) walk them down the aisle and their sisters as bridesmaids. Not to mention their adorable nieces and nephews as the ring bearer and flower girls! A table was also set up for Kelsey’s deceased father to attend in spirit. Their wedding was full of lots of personal details and DIY projects, including the seating chart done by the bride, the cake was designed and made by the brides sister, Karen Stiles and their guest book was a Wilson basketball.
What a gorgeous couples and what a perfect San Diego wedding day. Congratulations to the Wilson’s!!

Downtown Gallery Styled Wedding Shoot Brings the trend of gorgeous Brick Industrial Texture and Rich Watercolor Pastels Together
Industrial hard meets pretty is so hot right now in fashion and editorial! And at the exciting Sparks Gallery in Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, the rough brick and deep wood contrasting with the exciting and bright colors in the artwork make the perfect set up for the dynamism of Justice Photography. This shoot is the perfect blend of strong lines and textures and soft colors and styling. Bonus: it even has a gorgeous geode cake, floral decorated picture frames [love!] and crystal place settings in Pantone's Color of the Year for 2108 Ultra Violet! This super design team is so on trend for weddings and style and we think they've created the perfect blend of the masculine and the feminine with this dramatic and fresh wedding styled shoot! Enjoy!
Melissa Barrad, Owner of I DO Weddings and Events and Lead Stylist in the shoot says, "Once I visited the Sparks Gallery, I knew it was a special place. I loved the lighting, and of course, that they feature California artists. With that in mind, we pooled together California based vendors and San Diego natives, like myself, to create a unique romantic feel with a laid-back vibe. We wanted to work with colors that would enhance the art, not take away from it."

From Jenna and Kaj's proposal in Spain at the Parque del Retiro in Madrid to the beautiful European like village of La Jolla, California, this couple celebrated their love and family with a lovely, and love-filled, wedding. The historical Darlington House with its beautiful and rich, multi cultural decor [Andalusian Patio modeled after the style of Southern Spain with Roman arches, and benches and flooring made with Azulejo tile, Egyptian Patio with a fountain and colorful classic Egyptian tile lining the pool, classical English style Rose Garden and our favorite the Library with its dark wooden bookcases, Moroccan fireplace and a gorgeous staircase that invokes Moorish architecture] was the perfect wedding venue to represent these two and their adventurous spirits, with the inspiration for their weddings' theme coming from their travels in Spain. And to top it off, Jenna and Kai's accent of pastel colors of Pinks, Corals, Sage Green and Gold perfectly reflected the colors of the Venue.
Of course we all love how weddings bring families and friends together and collectively we all are there to witness and help create a new family. From sweet loving speeches, to tender moments with parents, and dancing and celebrating with friends, it's all a whirlwind of over-whelming and happy memories. And with extra special touches like the beautiful DIY items like hand made pottery, made by the groom's mom planted with succulents for guests gifts, and heirloom items like Jenna wearing her grandmother's bracelet, this wedding was one of kind and chock full of moments to last a life time! Enjoy and congrats to Jenna and Kai!!

Kevin and Marissa Corbett are the ultimate example of being able to move past the "friend zone." These two have actually been lifelong friend through their mothers. They grew up together. It wasn't until high school that the two started to see more potential between the two of them; and after they graduated, they attempted their first date. Obviously, it was a success. Kevin decided he wanted to join the military, and Marissa wasn't going to wait to get married until he got back from boot camp. So, a courthouse marriage [with Kevin in our personal favorite the gorgeous blue groom's suit a la Friar Tux!] performed by their best friend was arranged, and the rest is in the photos.

All this time we've been sitting here on the coast, thinking about driving to Temecula for a fun winery experience, not realizing that there was a gorgeous, old school, Spanish styled hacienda and vineyard just twenty minutes from downtown San Diego! It's like stepping back in time to a beautiful, relaxing, abundant era of riches and style. Love and Laughter Fills Up a Beautiful Old Hollywood Styled San Diego Wedding! Today's featured wedding is a magical vintage fairytale celebrated at the US GRANT HOTEL.
Says our bride "I can, truly, say that our wedding day was the happiest, most fun day of my life! Actually, everything leading up to the "big day" was so fun! The planning, the showers, the Bridal luncheon, and even just getting ready- I'd happily do it all again! Having an amazing set of vendors was key in the day being low stress, happy, and fun! The U.S. GRANT is incredibly beautiful on its own. I love that every time I walk in the hotel, I feel like I just stepped into a vintage Hollywood party, complete with chandeliers, lounge furniture, and delicious Manhattans. Truly, that pre-existing decor was the inspiration for our wedding. Along with the beauty of the venue, tables, decor, etc., I think everyone had a great time, which was VERY important to us! We served champagne at the ceremony, had the U.S. GRANT's special Centennial Manhattans at the cocktail hour, and we had the most amazing band! They had incredible energy and were such a talented, fun set of performers. Honestly, I couldn't stop smiling, and now, when I look back at the day, I can't stop smiling either! Truly, it was the best day ever!" We couldn't agree more!

Roll your stockings down and grab your flask it's a swanky wedding styled shoot in an old Speakeasy that we think is just swell! Inside this story-filled venue take a gander at the pocket door leading into The Ballroom you’ll find two holes, the upper hole was utilized to visualize anyone seeking access, the lower of the two holes was utilized for the weapon that helped ensure there was no trouble.
